in 2002, brimming with a successful corporate career experience in diverse fields, it was not a herculean task to make an in-road into full time politics from the fringe. He joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and with his pedigree, after a stint, emerged its Senatorial Candidate for Osun West.
He contested and won election into the Senate in 2003. As a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he was adept and dexterous; he played the game neat and was never to be associated with controversies. He shone like a star and distinguished himself. He was at different times the;

Vice Chairman, Senate Services Committee (2004-2005),
Chairman Senate Committee on Education (March-May 2005),
Vice Chairman Senate Committee on Education (July 2005- June 2007),
he was also a member of Senate Committees on Internal Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, INEC, Interparliamentary Affairs, Defence and Public Accounts.

Education
-N20,000 Bursary award per student in each of the 110 wards in the Senatorial District
-Purchase of computer set for National Association of Ikire Students(NAIS)
-Donation of a block of 5 classrooms to Ansar-ud-deen primary school, Odeomu
-Donation OF N2.5 million for construction of school hall at Gbongan Odeomu Anglican School of Science.
Employment Generation/Women & Youth Empowerment
-Setting up of Micro-Credit Scheme for Women to the tune of 1 million Naira in the Senatorial District.
-Disbursement of 1 million Naira to the Aged above 70 years old in all the wards in Senatorial District.
-Distribution of power generating sets to some PDP leaders in the Senatorial District.
-Distribution of wheel chairs to the physically challenged in some of the Local Government Areas of the Senatorial District.
-Distribution of motorcycles to party leaders in the Senatorial District for transportation purposes.
-Distribution of 110 Sewing Machines (SINGER) with stands to a member from ward in the Senatorial District.
